Abatement and demolition careers in Calgary
Aden Integrated Services Ltd. is building a roster of certified, fit-tested tradespeople for asbestos abatement, mold remediation and interior demolition across Calgary and the surrounding communities. If you hold the tickets and take the work seriously, we would like to hear from you.
Who we are looking for
Asbestos Abatement Worker
Valid Alberta asbestos worker certificate and a current respirator fit test. Experience building and working inside negative-pressure containment. Comfortable with wet-method removal, decontamination procedure and waste handling to the provincial standard.
Lead Hand / Supervisor
Able to set up and run a containment, maintain and log negative pressure, direct a small crew and take responsibility for their safety and documentation. Previous supervisory experience on abatement or hazmat sites preferred.
Demolition & Strip-Out Labourer
Interior demolition, selective strip-out and site cleaning. Careful, steady work that protects the parts of a building that are staying. An asbestos certificate is an asset but not required for non-restricted work.
Positions are offered on a scheduled and on-call basis as projects require. Experienced tradespeople seeking flexible or between-contract work are welcome to apply.
Requirements
Two credentials are mandatory for any restricted-area work, because Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Code requires them:
- Asbestos worker certificate from a government-approved course, valid and in your possession on site.
- Respirator fit test, current, for the make and model of respirator you will wear.
The following are assets and should be listed in your application: WHMIS, Standard or Intermediate First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry and Monitor (attic and crawl-space abatement is classified as confined space work in Alberta), Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and aerial or scissor lift certification.
Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive at Calgary-area job sites on schedule are essential.
If one of your certificates has expired or you are missing one, apply anyway and say so. We would rather know before the first day than discover it on site, and we can discuss which courses are worth completing.

- Coverage. Every worker is covered under our WCB Alberta account. The company carries $5 million in commercial general liability and $5 million in contractors pollution liability insurance.
- A documented safety system. Field-level hazard assessments on every job, project notifications filed with Alberta OHS, waste manifested, and a written health and safety program. If a task cannot be done safely, work stops until it can.
- Proper equipment. Containment built to the Alberta Asbestos Abatement Manual, negative air run and logged, and PPE appropriate to the risk level. Nobody is asked to improvise.
- Clear scheduling. Work in this trade comes in waves. We tell you what work we have, and we do not over-promise.
- Agreed rates, paid on time. Rates depend on your certifications and experience and are confirmed in writing before you start.
The nature of the work
Abatement is physical, deliberate work, much of it inside a sealed containment in a respirator. Attic work in summer is demanding. The pace is controlled because rushing is how material becomes airborne and how people get hurt. If you already do this work and do it properly, you will fit here.
