After a fire, the flames are only part of the damage. Smoke and soot travel far beyond the burn area, embedding odor in drywall, ducts, and contents. The water used to put the fire out soaks floors and wall cavities and starts a 48-hour countdown to mold. And in older buildings, fire-damaged materials can expose asbestos that must be handled before rebuild. Restoring a fire-damaged property means dealing with all of it — in the right order.
1. Emergency response and board-up. We respond 24/7. First priorities are securing the property — board-up, tarping, temporary fencing — and documenting the damage for your insurer.
2. Water extraction and drying. Firefighting water comes out first, before it drives secondary damage. Commercial extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers dry the structure.
3. Soot and smoke cleanup. Soot is acidic and keeps damaging surfaces the longer it sits. We clean walls, ceilings, contents, and ductwork with the appropriate method for each surface, then treat odor at the source with air scrubbing and deodorization — not by masking it.
4. Hazmat check. In pre-1990s buildings, fire-disturbed materials are tested for asbestos before demolition or rebuild. Because we're also an abatement contractor, this doesn't add a second company or weeks of delay.
5. Demolition and rebuild. Unsalvageable materials are removed, and the same team handles the rebuild through to final cleaning.
